The Senior Food Box Program in Elbert County:  The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a USDA Program designed to improve the health of low-income people age 60 and older, by supplementing their diets with nutritious foods.  Eligible seniors receive a monthly food box along with nutrition education and recipes.  the box contains non-perishable protein, milk (powdered or UHT), juice, cereal, pasta or rice, canned or dried fruits and vegetables, and refrigerated cheese.  The Food Bank of the Rockies distributes directly and through partner agency/host sites (listed below).

 

Client eligibility requirements:

 

*  Be a Colorado resident; 60+ years of age.

*  Provide photo ID and proof of address.

*  Combined gross incomes does not exceed 130% of current federal poverty level.

*  Homebound clients may receive food via direct delivery and/or proxy (having someone pickup on the client's behalf).
