Why Become Catholic?

"I have called you by name; you are mine."

– Isaiah 43:1

Are you desiring to learn what the Catholic Church teaches and believes?

Your personal encounter with Jesus through the sacramental life of the Church begins with the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children (RCIA). You are invited to know and experience the Jesus who loves you by better understanding the teaching of the Church and by learning about His gift through the Sacraments.

RCIA is for those who have been away from the Church, for those Christians who are new to the Catholic Christian faith, or those who have never been baptized.

Weekly presentations, study, discussion, and prayer help participants understand and experience the specific teachings and practices of the Catholic Church. RCIA is the process through which adults inquire about, prepare for, and are welcomed into the Catholic Church with the sacraments of Baptism (if not already baptized), Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. Through this journey, a person is able to fully enter the sacramental life of the Church and become a disciple of Christ. RCIA classes take place on Tuesday evenings from September through the following Easter each year.
