Respect Life

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse;                                                                                                             therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.”        (Deuteronomy 30:18)

                                             MISSION STATEMENT

The Our Lady of the Visitation Parish is faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and promotes and uphold the sanctity and dignity of all human life from conception to natural death.  Our Catholic faith teaches us to see Christ in everyone.  Therefore as Catholics, we believe that human life is a gift from God and is worthy of respect, dignity, and protection from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death (e.g.,from cradle to grave).  The mission of the parishes’ Respect Life Ministry Committee is to inform our parishioners and community leaders of pro-life organizations and institutions (including, but not limited to:  abortion, euthanasia, human trafficking, embryonic stem cell research, etc.), and assist individuals in their efforts to foster reverence for all human life.  This ministry encompasses prayer, education, advocacy, care, and services.

The Committee actively seeks to bring parishioners a better understanding and awareness of the dignity of human life and the dangers of the "Culture of Death" via presentations; timely bulletin articles and inserts; mail pamphlets; etc.

The Respect Life Committee reports to and is overseen by the parish’s incumbent Pastor, and meets a minimum of quarterly.   Committee meeting reports are submitted to the Pastor for review and file retention in the parish's Main Office.
